MOVE

MOBILITY & FLEXIBILITY 

​

Our bodies are capable of amazing abilities to flex and perform under tension. Developed over thousands of years the human body is capable of extraordinary ranges of motion. These movements not only make us feel ‘alive’ but create a constant positive cycle in allowing us improved circulation, remaining injury and pain free and keeping our joints and muscles healthy.

Movement increases body immunity, improves digestion and reduces stress. 

 

The opposite is true if we don’t pay attention to movement. Just like machines we seize up and muscles degenerate. Joints become stiff and we develop postural problems, back pain, obesity and cardiovascular disease. 

 

My training focusses on easy, effective and fun ways to improve your mobility and flexibility.

LIFT

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

​

We are all living longer but the human condition cannot be changed. As we age, we lose muscle and bone strength and it is important that we continue to train for both strength and power to be able to perform our regular daily activities. 

 

Whatever your age and athletic goals - trains for strength and power significantly reduces the risks of many diseases including osteoporosis, arthritis, heart disease and diabetes;

as well as improving sleep and reducing depression. 

 

My training for strength and power focusses on safe, targeted programmes that will help you build bone strength, build lean muscle, reduce bad body fat, increase your natural levels of metabolism and improve your mental well-being. 

 

For some it might be about elite goals in lifting or power events but for many is is about developing an approach and understanding that allows you to perform your normal daily activities easily.

BALANCE

MIND, BODY & LIFESTYLE

We are increasingly becoming aware of the strong connection between Mind and Body. This is not new but we are, in the Western world, rediscovering the benefits of understanding and training mind-body practices.    

At its most basic level - simply being much more aware of your own body: how it functions, how it is feeling, where and when it needs care and attention - itself can ease the mind. Being conscious of various body signals allows you to respond and take action (like learning breathing exercises) to prevent anxiety and disease developing further.

 

My training and techniques will guide you as to how to ‘read’ your own body. Probably the greatest benefit that my long-lasting clients have had is the ability to truly understand their bodies and the bodies needs. In turn this provides them with a strong and positive mind. They have learned to be in control of themselves despite whatever might be going on around them.

I deliver fun, low impact but high energy and effective workouts with fast results. I target every muscle of the body during each workout and draw a lot of attention to technique and postural correction ensuring my clients’ safety - just proven methods that, with your hard work, will get you the results you are looking for.

"About 6 years ago, Jessica became my weekly personal trainer. I wanted to improve my general

fitness, and my time for 5k running. I improved. Strengthening the knees dealt with knee pain. The

training is also for skiing, and this has increased my confidence and enjoyment each year.

In 2018, at 74, I signed up for a 4-day trek over one of the highest secret escape routes across the Pyrenees to Spain from the French foothills, knowing I would have to carry a 10kg backpack. Jessica rose to the challenge, even at one point creating a mini-Pyrenees in the gym. It all went well. Since then, general fitness, mobility, running and skiing have been the objectives, and we have moved on to weights training.

I was and remain impressed by Jessica’s unfailing energy, enthusiasm and technical knowledge.
